Matchplay
To give all archers a good match play experience, at the conclusion of the 720 ranking round, archers will be put into divisions, based on their results.
Divisions are:
  • Compound Division 1
  • Compound Division 2
  • Recurve & Barebow Division 1
  • Recurve & Barebow Division 2
There will be 2 round robin matches per division that all archers will shoot. This will be followed by gold and bronze medal matches for the top 4 archers in each division. Matches will be shot concurrently (everyone will shoot at the same time). All archers will shoot matches at the same distance that they shot the 720 ranking round.
Trophies and medals will be awarded for each of the 4 divisions.
Matches will follow World Archery rules, including the 2-minute timing per end (3 arrows):
  • Compound archers will shoot 15 arrow matches with cumulative scoring
  • Recurve archers will shoot the set system, best of 5 sets.
There will be volunteers to assist archers who have not shot matches before, and a briefing will occur prior to the matches starting.
For those who haven’t been to our club before, we are located in an old quarry, alongside Newcastle Pistol Club, at Eldon St, Waratah West. Parking is available adjacent to the shooting range, and inside the gates of the pistol club.
